Many a Winding Path

There was a great wilderness filled with many winding paths. They twisted and turned, sometimes coming together and sometimes veering apart. Sometimes they went a long way only to come to a dead end. Some paths even went on forever without actually going anywhere.

There was believed to be hidden somewhere in the wilderness a beautiful narrow Gate, where only good and beauty was beyond it. Many disbelieved it and thought the winding paths served no purpose. Others declared it a hopeless journey even if it was real. Who could possibly find it and how would you even know if you were on the right path?

Some found the correct paths but headed down them the wrong way and were lost forever. Others headed the right way but the trees would slowly move and twist the path in the wrong direction. Some refused the journey and would stake claim to their own twisted path, refusing to leave it. Others formed groups and helped and encouraged each other. They fared better but even they would get terribly lost.

One day a truly humble man entered the wilderness. For him the the trees would move and twist his path slightly towards the Gate. He made many mistakes, same as everyone else, yet he always got closer to the Gate. Some humbly followed him all the way to the gate where they passed through together.

"For the gate is narrow but many a winding path may lead there."
